Q. i have a chipped tooth in the front of my mouth and need two pulled from the back.
A. Do you live near a Tennessee university that has a college of dentistry? If so, check out their clinic, where dental students practice their skills on regular patients, under the guidance of the professors. Usually the cost is very low, or nothing at all, depending on your income.
Try these:
Univ of Tennessee (Memphis)
Meharry Medical College (Nashville)
Univ of Louisville (Louisville, KY)
Univ of Kentucky (Lexington, KY)

A. I am in the same situation you are in I went to the dental schools to have students work on me but the down fall with clinics is that they only do a little work at a time and it gets stretched out over so long. I have bad credit too. But i finally got a dentist to finance me for 3500 and come to find out he was ridiculously expensive! like 1200 for one CROWN!! So i took my financed butt somewhere else i NOW have 5 crowns woohoo and my front teeth are beautiful now i have to pay this 3500 off then start all over I'm FAR from done. I also have dentemax which is a discount program. here is what i was financed through..

does the dental schools in memphis provide discounted patient services?
Q.
A. Yes, the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in Memphis has fees that are significantly less expensive than a private dentist would charge.
However, there are two things you should keep in mind. First, while the services are less expensive, they are not free, or even close to free. Second, you can't just make an appointment for any time that you want. You have to fill out an application to become a patient, and they only treat you when your dental problem is what they are teaching. If you want to find out more about becoming a patient, click on this link:

If you need free or nearly free dental treatment, however, one place to go in Memphis is this one,
Memphis Health Center, Inc
360 E H Crump Boulevard
Memphis, TN, 38126
901-774-5794
Good luck, and I hope this helps.
