Q. I live in West Virginia but I'm not against moving to make more money. So, I am curious about how much they can make in the surrounding states such as Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia and North Carolina?
A. I may have answered this same question before, but I'll do it again.
In West Va. (where I live and work), dental assistants can expect to start out at $7.00/hr. w/ no training or experience. That said, w/ experience, they start from $9.00/hr. up. Many assistants in my area make $12 - $13 hr. w/ a few years at the same office. Many assistants in Charleston make upwards of $15/hr. Still, it all varies.
I don't know about Ohio, Kentucky or Virginia, but I know about North Carolina. You have to be a Certified Dental Assistant in NC, but you don't have to be certified (yet) in WV. In NC, they have DA1's and DA2's. Many offices will only hire DA2's. With experience, they start at at least $17.00/hr and go up considerable. Average DA2 w/ several years at the same company makes around $24/hr in Charlotte.
I hope this helps. Dental assisting is a great field. The hours are wonderful and if you find the right office for you, it's just like having a 2nd family. The dentist I worked for was wonderful, truly wonderful. However, there are some very mean ones out there, too. Good luck to you!

Does anyone know a good dentist for my 1yr old in the Charlotte/Huntersville, NC area?
Q. She has a chipped tooth and I just moved here so I do not know anyone.
A. I would suggest you talk to your pediatrician
cosmetic dentist payments, charlotte,nc?
Q. Does anyone know of a cosmetic dentist in Charlotte,NC or nearby that accepts monthly payments without added interest? I would like to pay the dentist directly instead of going through "Care Credit". CC is like having a credit card payment. Thanks
A. dentistry overhead is quite costly and cosmetic dentistry typically involves substantial lab bills and big chunks of the dentists and dental staffs time. most places now a days even if they let you pay it out to some degree would need at least half of it up front. i don't think you are going to find a dentist willing to bill you - for one thing- billing itself costs alot more than just the paper, ink and stamp/ the average statement costs 5 bucks an envelope. if you don't wanna use care credit then i would suggest finding a low interest visa/mc offer out there.
