How good is the salary of a dentist?
Q. i've been thinking about going to college for becoming a dentist. whats the average salary and is that salary good?

A. Dentists make a LOT of money, they can definately make over $200,000 especially if you have your own private practice. You're a doctor, no doctor has a starting salary of less than $100,000 today. 15 year ago when my father started as a doctor in internal medicine his starting salary in a private practice was $175,000+.

But i warn you, if you're going after being a dentist ONLY for the money, you will NOT succeed. It's a LOT of school and a LOT of work. Nobody goes after this profession simply because of how much money they'll make you MUST have a passion for it.

How much does a Dentist start off making?
Q. I know that it varies from state to state but how much does a Dentist generally make a year when starting off straight out of dental school? I live in wisconsin so if you can tell me how much they make here than that would be cool.

What are the salaries of biomedical engineers with these graduate degrees?
Q. What are the salaries of people who get their undergraduate degree as a biomedical engineer and go to these types of graduate school:

a.) Getting their masters
b.) Medical School
c.) Dental School
d.) Law School

I was really curious and I wanted to know the average salary range for each of those.

Thanks!

A. Your question is difficult to answer very accurately because the secondary options have substantial ranges. For b-d, you are basically asking what do doctors, dentists and lawyers make. The undergraduate biomedical degree has little effect on the salary at that point. The salaries for doctors, dentists and lawyers can vary significantly by the specialty, location and other factors like whether one pursues a research path, private practice or corporate path. But, in general those professions would start out at around $150,000/yr or more. The masters in biomedical is a bit easier... in general, starting salaries are around $60,000 to $90,000 depending again on location and whether you work for a VA hospital, university research, corporate job, etc. Hope this is helpful.
