Are there any free or low cost dental clinics in the phoenix area?

Q. not a suburb of phoenix i mean like phoenix itself.
or places that take very low monthly payment plans?

A. A T Still University
Arizona's first dental school opened in 2003. Anyone who does not have a comprised health condition (for example, unusually high blood pressure) qualifies for dental care. A visit with a student dentist costs about half what it would cost for a regular dental visit. Specific fees will be outlined for each patient prior to treatment. Licensed doctors and specialists perform x-rays, mouth examinations and review oral health history. Procedures are performed by 3rd and 4th year dental students under close supervision of licensed faculty dental specialists.
Dave Pratt Dental Clinic
Housed at the the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix in south central Phoenix, the Dave Pratt Dental Clinic provides dental care at very low cost to economically disadvantaged children aged 5 to 18 years who do not qualify for dental insurance. The Dave Pratt Dental Clinic is a full-service facility providing comprehensive oral examinations, x-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealant, fillings, extractions, root canals, and emergency treatments. The Clinic is open Tuesday through Friday.
Mesa Community College Dental Hygiene Program
The Mesa Community College Dental Hygiene clinic offers a full range of comprehensive dental hygiene services at fees less than most private dental practices. The Dental Hygiene clinic sees patients from late August through mid May in the evenings, Monday through Thursday. East Mesa.
Midwestern University Dental Institute
The Midwestern University Dental Institute provides most of the same services you would get at a private dental office at 30% to 50% less than you might pay at a typical dentist's office. Glendale.
Phoenix College Dental Hygiene Clinic
If you are a new patient, or it has been over two years since your last visit, your first visit will be for screening purposes only. At this appointment, a supervised dental hygiene student will gather data to determine your eligibility to receive dental hygiene care at the clinic. The facility is closed approximately five months per year (winter, spring and summer breaks and all other observed holidays). Phoenix.
Rio Salado College School of Dental Hygiene
The school offers dental cleanings for $25. Monday through Friday. Downtown Phoenix.

Where would you go in the Phoenix AZ area to have some dental work done?
Q. I don't have insurance and would like the name of a dental school or a more affordable place I could have some dental work done instead of going to a high priced dentist.

A. Called Banner Health Hospital on Thomas Road and W. 99th avenue. They have a list of dentists who will help.

How Hard Is It To Get Into Dental School?
Q. So I'll be graduating from high school in May, and in the future I would like to become a dentist. I'm planning on going to college and becoming a dental assistant first and the a dental hygienist . I heard that you need for year of college to get into a dental school. But I want to know if its hard getting into dental school. Do you have to wait a for a couple of years? And if I'm planning my future good?

I live in Phoenix, Arizona

A. if you want to be a dentist, being a dental assistant or hygienist is simply wasting time. none of the courses transfer and they don't help you get into dental school. If you want to be a hygienist or assistant, that's great--but they don't do anything for the path to denist.

it is very difficult to get into dental school. Schools often take only 5-8% of those who apply which is a smaller percentage than most medical schools. You need a 4 year bachelor's degree in anything as well as taking the predental courses, which differ from school to school but always include 1 year chem, 1 year biology, 1 year physics, 1 year organic chem.

then you take the DAT exam and must score very high. Then it's another 4 years of dental school if you get accepted anywhere. Most students that get accepted have about a 3.6 or 3.7 GPA durin gundergrad.
