Does anybody have a good definition for a dentist?

Q. i need to do a report on a dentist for school we have to write a one page description of a dentists job could someone send me a good link or some good info i could use.

A. ok since you want a definition i think i will give you 4

A person who is trained and licensed to practice dentistry

Dentistry is the practical application of knowledge of dental science (the science of placement, arrangement, function of teeth and their supporting bones and soft tissues) to human beings. A dentist is a professional practitioner of dentistry. In most countries, to become a qualified dentist, one needs several years of training in a university (usually 4-8) and some practical experience working with actual patients' dentition.

A health professional who specializes in caring for the teeth, gums, and other tissues in the mouth.

means a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMA) who is licensed to practice prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, accidental injuries, and malformation of the teeth, mouth, and jaws

What is the difficulty of a dentist finding a job?
Q. I am thinking of going into the Dentistry field, but I have no clue as to how difficult it would be for me to get a job.... I've tried job searching but the results come back inconclusive

A. no dentist in the country is unemployed. you can set up your own place and succeed or people are always trying to hire dentists.

What could happen to an uncapped root canal?
Q. I cannot afford to go to the dentist. My mother lost her job along with her insurance that I was under. I can't afford insurance for myself at this time. The dentist completed the job, but I never got the cap on and now all of the temporary filling he put in has fallen out and it's just a big hole... What could happen if I leave it uncapped for say until around August/September next year when my college insurance kicks in?

A. You need to see a real dentist. The problem you have is that the dentist you used probably put gutta percha in the cavity and that does not fill all the canals. The temporary tooth that was in was keeping more bacteria & debris from getting into the canal. This can be very serious problem for your overall health. People have died from infections that get into the teeth, especially bad root canals.

I would call your dentist and make an appointment to talk to him about this to try and make a deal with him. You cannot leave your tooth like that for any length of time because it can become serious very quickly.

good luck to you

how do you prevent panicking and crying in public?
Q. I have a really bad tendency to hyperventilate/feel nauseous/burst into tears in certain situations for example at the dentist, or a job interview. It is embarrassing, How do I stop? Sometimes my limbs start shaking and it's all I can do not to run away. I'm a grown woman!

A. Sedatives maybe, definitely consult a doctor for advice.
