Q. Is there any overseeing board for the conduct of dentists in the NYC area that is not just a board of fellow dentists designed to protect one another? A dentist I was seeing used a dishonest scam to over-charge my account and I would really like for the matter to be heard by some group with *real* clout.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
A. Yes. Dentists do sometimes play loose with the rules especially concerning insurance issues in order to increase their billing. If he acted inappropriately, you can report him to the New York State Education Dept. Office of the Professions. They will ask for any evidence you have to back up your claim, so have that ready. Good luck
Where can I do teeth whitening without pain in NYC?
Q. I have done the tooth whitening before and it was so painful. I need to do that again , but is there anyplace I can do that without pain in NYC?
A. Laser is done by a dentist who applies a 35% Hydrogen Peroxide solution on your teeth. Once this solution is on, a light is held a couple of inches away from your teeth to speed up the chemical reaction of the Hydrogen Peroxide. Many dentist advertise that this works better than tray type whitening. That has not been our experience. There is NO clinical data to indicate the laser whitening works any better than tray whitening. NONE! This procedure costs $500 plus. The problem with this procedure is that after a year of your normal eating habits (drinking coke, tea, coffee, etc.) your teeth become slightly discolored again and develops a new stain. With the laser whitening, you will have to go and pay $500 plus to have white teeth again. With the custom mouthpieces, you already have the custom mouthpieces that you can wear a year later for a night to take off the new stain at no cost.
There is usually some pain after teeth bleaching. You might try "deep bleaching". It is less painful I left a link below for dentist who perform the service

can a dentist or pharmacist make a good living in NYC or Chicago?
Q. I'm a junior in college and debating between dental and pharmacy. I really want to live in NYC or Chicago. Can I live comfortably?
A. A dentist or pharmacist can make good money (upwards of 100k) anywhere in the US. New York City is really expensive though so you'll live comfortably but not as comfortable as if you lived somewhere else.
How much does a dentist make in new york city?
Q. hey i am looking into being a dentist as my profession. I wanna know how much do they make a yer in nyc because that's where i live and i think I'm going to try and be a dentist in Manhattan. so please provide me with some info on how much they earn.
A. It depends on your practice, some dentist struggle especially right out of dental school. It will benefit you to work in a pre-exsisting practice to build up a patient base. Then you can start your own practice. Also visit offices and ask to do internships over school brakes to get your feet wet in the field.
