Q. I am looking into becoming a dentist for my career. i am just woundering what steps i need to go through tp become one.
A. My advice for becoming a dentist is if you are in high school still to take extra science classes like biology and chemistry, these courses will help you prepare for college and also dental school course. While you can major in anything in your first 4 years of college, most dental schools like to see and usually require a lot of courses in biology and chemistry with labs, therefore when I graduated with a bachelors degree I majored in biology. When you apply to dental school you will have to take an admissions test called the DAT (dental admissions test), see the websites below for further research. Dental school is a lot of hard work and takes a lot of dedication, but if you are truly interested in being a dentist and are ready to do the hard work then you will turn out to be a great dentist!! Good luck with your studies and study hard!!

Q. hey, Just graduated HS and currently enrolled in a criminal justice college. I am taking basic classes and non to do with the major. How can I start an education to be a dentist? any good colleges out there? thanks
A. You need a BS in Biology, Chemistry, or one of the other sciences. Then you can apply to Dental School at one of the Universities.
Is it wrong to ask my dentist about careers?
Q. I am planning to have a new life and at the same time have a career that I can be proud of. I've been working at a retail store for four years with an AA diploma and yet I don't get enough respect. If you are my dentist, would you just recommend me at a school? The dental schools here are 2 hours away from my house or are there dentist that does apprenticeship? I'm 21 years old.
A. No you can't do an apprenticeship. It isn't a trade job it is a college PhD job to become a dentist. A dentist is a doctor of the dental field. He had to go to a 4 year college then a dental college to become a dentist. He probably worked on cadavers (dead people) in dental school and took many science courses.
You don't sound like someone who really wants to become a dentist or someone that will be successful in the field. I suggest you go back to a community college and look into other careers there. Talk to a college advisor. Don't ask your dentist for a recommendation because clearly you are not ready for a science related major.
