Q. I will be starting college soon, and I love the environment and nature. Is there anything I can do on the side, to make a little money to help pay for extra expenses?
I was thinking about selling jewelry at festivals made from recycled paper which my friend knows how to make, but the idea doesn't convince me.
Any ideas?? I will also be part of the environmental group in college, I live in Miami. =D
Thanks!!

A. i love that idea! i had a friend who sold handmade braceletts at fests and stuff and i'm not sure how profitable it was for her but can tell you it was super fufilling even though she was studying to bea dentist...to be creative in that sense and have someone purchase somehting you made from hand can be extremely satisfying.
i always worked as a bartender and a TA during college...i would ask college professors about working for them or if they have any reccomends of a PT job you can get that has to do with your field....or maybe even get a job at botanical garden or something like that...there are tons of options out there!! good luck!! :D

How much does it usually cost to get a teeth deep cleaning cause the Dentist I went to yesterday said $600?
Q. I stay in Miami, FL does anyone know of a cheaper dentist office cause i also need to fix a chip tooth fix my cavities, and i just sensitive gum which is something else they told me they need to care I'm not sure of exactly what it was called.
A. Check out a local Dental School, they offer reduced rates. I think Nova, is near Miami, and they have a Dental Clinic. Also check your local health department, as some offer Dental at reduced rates.
How can i volunteer at a dental clinic in Miami,fl?
Q. I'm studying for my associates in DA, then im going for my bachelors in DH. In the meantime, I would like to volunteer at a Dental Clinic. To gain experience and knowledge, that way I can have my foot in the door so when I go to apply for a job there won't be an issue. Any suggestions?
I have shadowed a Hygienist for a day, but she was my friend so that was easy.

A. Ask the dentist you go to...If not, he-she may know a dentist that would allow you to.
How do you open a tattoo/piercing parlor?
Q. I know different states have different regulations regarding the health code and safety but what would you say is a minimun amount in terms of dollars to open up a good shop. Not exactly like the one featured on "Inked" but more of a mid-sized shop like in "Miami or L.A Ink". IYO, is it a decent career to have or will you be living check to check? Would you choose it over say like a dentist or attorney?
A. No its not a decent career. My dads friend has his own shop and its been about 2 years now and hes just now able to make a regular income from it even with having tons of customers. Tattoos are expensive but so are the tools and ink needed. It costs thousands to open up a tattoo parlor. Think about it. You would need multiples of each color of ink, needles, tattoo guns, gloves, disinfectant, chairs, decorations, cash register, first and last months rent, pay to get your license for it and your business license. I would definately not choose it over a doctor or attorney. My brother is going to school to be an attorney and since he goes to a VERY good school his starting salary will six figures just starting out.
