How do you open a tattoo/piercing parlor?

Q. I know different states have different regulations regarding the health code and safety but what would you say is a minimun amount in terms of dollars to open up a good shop. Not exactly like the one featured on "Inked" but more of a mid-sized shop like in "Miami or L.A Ink". IYO, is it a decent career to have or will you be living check to check? Would you choose it over say like a dentist or attorney?

A. No its not a decent career. My dads friend has his own shop and its been about 2 years now and hes just now able to make a regular income from it even with having tons of customers. Tattoos are expensive but so are the tools and ink needed. It costs thousands to open up a tattoo parlor. Think about it. You would need multiples of each color of ink, needles, tattoo guns, gloves, disinfectant, chairs, decorations, cash register, first and last months rent, pay to get your license for it and your business license. I would definately not choose it over a doctor or attorney. My brother is going to school to be an attorney and since he goes to a VERY good school his starting salary will six figures just starting out.

Is there a Dentist in South Florida that will pull teeth, even without Medical Insurance?
Q. Well, a friend of mine has bad teeth he wants to get pulled out, but dosen't have Medical Insurance. He's willing to pay in small amounts every month if needed. He's just in major pain. Any help would be appriciated. I live in Dania/Miami Florida.

A. I would call the several dentist offices. Many have ways of setting up a payment plan.

I need to find a Dentist that will do a free dental implant in Miami, Florida?
Q. I have no insurance, I am physically disabled and I am unemployed.

A. That's a lot to ask an oral surgeon to give away. My implant--one tooth--cost $3600 and took four appointments.

You might want to seek a dental college where future dentists intern. It can be a safe and far more affordable way to get the dental services you need. Here, it's still not free, though, just greatly reduced.

For those who are missing teeth and unable to pay, an implant may be an unaffordable luxury. Depending on the missing tooth or teeth, a crown affixed to neighboring teeth or a partial denture is far less expensive and produces cosmetically acceptable results.

What colleges in the U.S. offer a 4 year oral and maxillofacial surgery program?
Q. What colleges in the United States offer a dentist to get oral and maxillofacial surgery certificate in 4 years? a non m.d. program

A. I don't know if there is such a thing with a non-md program. I think you have to have your MD.

Look at these school's programs:

Virginia Commonwealth University
University of Michigan
University of Maryland: Baltimore College of Dental Surgery
University of Tennessee: Graduate School of Medicine
University of Alabama at Birmingham: School of Dentistry
University of Pittsburgh - School of Dental Medicine
Harvard School of Dental Medicine
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
University of Miami School of Medicine
Stony Brook (State University of New York): School of Dental Medicine

There are dozens more, but they all seem to be related to a school of medicine.

How can I make money for college while working with nature?
Q. I will be starting college soon, and I love the environment and nature. Is there anything I can do on the side, to make a little money to help pay for extra expenses?

I was thinking about selling jewelry at festivals made from recycled paper which my friend knows how to make, but the idea doesn't convince me.

Any ideas?? I will also be part of the environmental group in college, I live in Miami. =D

Thanks!!

A. i love that idea! i had a friend who sold handmade braceletts at fests and stuff and i'm not sure how profitable it was for her but can tell you it was super fufilling even though she was studying to bea dentist...to be creative in that sense and have someone purchase somehting you made from hand can be extremely satisfying.

i always worked as a bartender and a TA during college...i would ask college professors about working for them or if they have any reccomends of a PT job you can get that has to do with your field....or maybe even get a job at botanical garden or something like that...there are tons of options out there!! good luck!! :D

what neighberhood in miami is the one with good schools and parents with money?

Q. the neighberhood that looks nice with good schools and parents that are chemist, doctors, lawyers, dentist etc. with good salary.

A. Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Miami Beach. There are other wealthy neighborhoods like Coconut Grove, South Miami, & Aventura, but the schools are problematic. If you are concerned about schools the only safe bet is private.

Where can I find doctors who accept Medicaid?
Q. I live in Miami, Florida and I am on Medicaid. I have searched online for doctors (specifically dentists and optometrists) and they say they accept medicaid online, but when I call the number, they say they accept mediCARE not mediCAID. I'm long overdue for a check up for my eyes and teeth. I just someone to point me in the right direction so I can get my health on the right track. I will be eternally grateful. Thank you.

A. Contact your caseworker and ask them who currently will accept Medicaid.

As the states cut back on funding, you'll find that fewer and fewer doctors will accept Medicaid in any state. Many doctors are refusing welfare clients because they get paid much more in the private sector.
