Q. I live in Houston and I need to get a dental check up but I am a little short on money. So where do I find one? And how? I tried looking on the internet but nothing worked.
A. Dentists don't work for free. If you have medicaid, you may be able to find one that takes that.
Does anyone know of an affordable dentist in the houston area?
Q. It's for my elderly mother who is on a fixed income. The dentist in our small town gave her and estimate of $4300 for two crowns and an upper and lower partial...I think that is ridiculous, so I told her I would call around the houston area before letting her go back there. Please help and thanks in advance.

How much does it really cost to replace all your teeth?
Q. My boyfriend has to have all his teeth replaced, and the dentist said for implants it could cost 200,000 to 300,000 dollars to do it. Is that ridiculously expensive or pretty normal for a dentist to charge?
My boyfriend has dental insurance, but the dentist said it doesn't cover permanent implants. I just need to know if this is overpriced. He's a specialist, not a regular dentist if that helps. And of course there are other options, like bridges or dentures, but we haven't discussed that yet. He just makes it sound like to get the appropriate treatment would cost 200,000 to 300,000 dollars.

A. There are several options to replace missing teeth. An entire mouth of implants could cost $200,000 but thats for 28 implants, 28 crowns/abutments. In this state (Houston, Texas), implants are about $3000 each and the crowns that go on top of the implant are about $1000 - $1200 each. This is roughly $115,000 for an entire mouth or 28 teeth. I would look into just doing a few implants and replacing the missing teeth with bridges or snap in dentures. This option is much less expensive.

Does someone knows how much a dental assistant earn in tx?How is it to work in that field?
Q. What about an online class for dental assistant, any good school in tx, especialy Houston ?please give me some feedback on everything , like what class to take or how much to pay for classes? I have considered online school cuz I have no body to watch the kids, while am at home I want to do something for my carreer.
A. If this is truly what you want to do - you need to GO to classes, even though it may be difficult. Make sure you become a DAII - DAI's can't do squat. Most dentists don't want to hire a DAI or people that only took classes online, they want somebody with clinical experience that have actually USED the materials. Most DAII's earn anywhere from $15 - 20 an hour to start depending on where you live.
