Help deciding on which university to choose. I've been offered admission to both NCSU & ECU?

Q. Okay I'm a resident of North Carolina and I'm transferring from a community college to a university in January. Well I have been offered admission to both of my top choice schools which are North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC & East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Well ultimately my career goal is to become a dentist and what brought my interest to East Carolina is the fact that they have built a new dental school there, but right now that is irrelevant b/c I've got to finish undergrad before going there. Either way I would apply to dental school there and to the existing dental school at UNC-Chapel Hill when that time comes. Well for my undergrad I would like to major in Microbiology because in case I don't get into dental school the first try I could find a good paying job in that field in the mean time. Well NC State university does have that major but East Carolina does not offer that major, so if I do attend ECU I'll have to opt for Biochemistry instead. NC State is closer to home, even though I do plan on staying on campus. ECU would be 3 hours away while NC State would be 2 hours. Also NC State is better known, better rep, more popular, I think ranked higher academically too. But I like ECU too and the new dental is really what cathes my attention and I don't know if going there for undergrad would increase the chances of them accepting me into dental school being that they might have 1st preference for applicants from their own. They also have a very good medical school there so I'm sure there are many pre-med studetns which I would find lots in common with, same goals etc....while NC State has a Veterinary School. So I dunno, help! I'm in a dilemma I want to go to a good school for my undergrad degree and I'm looking at what undergrad major would offer me the most in case I don't get into dental school as back up. Please help! Thanks!

A. ECU has better partying

How to Manage and Start a Home - Based Business

1) Think large for the long term, but think small in the beginning. Start your business by contacting people that you know ( friends, family, neighbors etc. ). Let these people know that you are in business, and explain to them what a convenient service you provide.

(2) Network your business as a fund-raiser. Contact local schools, churches, civic groups etc. who want to raise money for their organization and keep a percentage of sales as your profit.

(3) Take advantage of any gift giving occasion ( holidays, birthdays, engagements, graduations, etc.) Keep a log of all special occasions for your customers.

(4) Contact local business who having waiting areas (family doctor, pediatrician, dentist, beautician, mechanics etc.) This is an excellent opportunity for you to offer your service at little or no additional cost to the customer.

(5) Ask existing customers for referrals. Most businesses get their start this way. For example: Your beautician built his or her client base from referrals of existing customers. Word of mouth is the most powerful form of advertisement.

(6) Contact your local Chamber of Commerce to get a listing of businesses ( and their address / Phone Number) in your area. Write a letter of introduction, or use our suggested letter of introduction, to contact them. There may be a small fee to get this list.

(7) Contact large businesses in your area.

(8) Keep updates on new residents in your area. Write a letter to welcome them to the community and tell them about your service. Form a business relationship with a local company that deals with major purchases ( real estate brokers, car salesman ).

(9) Build relationships with your customers. Follow up with existing customers on a regular basis ( every 3 mos. ) . And there are NO problems. Hint: Customers follow up is crucial to your business. If you do not follow up, your credibility can be destroyed. If you only call your customers once a year (when it is time to renew ), they will be less likely to renew through you if there have been problems and you were not available to handle them throughout the year.

tell me what you thought about that jon and kate plus 8 episode last night!?
Q. i think he is a complete a-hole. i was totally on his side until i saw that episode yesterday. it seems like she's trying to change and make her marriage work (because she's not as stuck up and obsessive controling anymore) and he cant even help with his childrens 5th b-day party. i mean his child told him not to leave anymore and he says he needs time off...ohh please. i hate him....

what do you think?!?

A. I completely disagree with you on almost every point.

1) Prior to that episode, Kate had only been home for several days the whole month. Jon needed some time off because he'd been a 24 hour stay at home dad to 8 kids while Kate was off flying first class and staying in fancy hotels.

2) Who said she isn't controlling and obsessive? Just because you didn't see as much of it in ONE episode? She still didn't talk to him with any respect or care.

3) I completely disagree with those that say Kate is just trying to work and help her family. That's BS. Jon and Kate make plenty of money from the series to take care of those kids for a long long time. Kate doing book tour travels is not bringing in new money, but it takes her away from home for much of the time. You cannot be a hands on mother, or involved wife and only see your family 5 days a month. It's impossible.

4) The answer to fixing this marriage is simple and right there: QUIT THE SERIES. Jon has said he doesn't want to do it anymore. Kate has said she wants to do it and won't quit. Until they resolve this issue, their marriage will be unhappy. Kate is putting the $ and fame ahead of everything. She enjoys the star treatment when she travels. As usual, it's all about Kate.
